FAQ
Question:
Can I visit your kennel and meet the parents and puppies?
Answer:
Of course! We want you to feel as connected to us as possible. We always welcome visits but, due to our extremely busy schedules, we do ask that you make an appointment with us. If for some reason you change your mind or you are late, please call us to let us know (706)353-7222 or (706)247-5325.
We also require that you not visit any pet stores or other kennels prior to your visit. These places could carry contaminants that could be very dangerous to our dogs and puppies. This is a very serious threat to a lot of kennels. Many breeders do not even allow people to visit or even see the puppies that they are adopting due to the contageous disease factor.    We know that it is very important for you to meet us and connect with your future baby so we have these rules in place for everyone’s protection.
We welcome visits but if the puppies are younger than 4 weeks old you will not be able to handle them. Puppies younger than this are extremely fragile and can be hurt very easily.

Question:
What do I need to do before I get my puppy?
Answer:
First, you will need to plan a vet visit. We require that you take your puppy to the vet within 48 hours of his/her pick up. If for some reason you can not go to the vet within 48 hours, please let us know in advance so we may give you a time extension on your contract.
Secondly, read, read, read! We recommend reading up on everything it takes to be a new parent.   There are many excellent training books such as  Cesar Millan (The Dog Whisper) videos and books for training.

Question:
When do you let your puppies go to their new home?
Answer:
We let our puppies go home when they are 8 weeks old in order to insure that they are mature enough to leave their mom and littermates.  We always confer with our vet before releaseing puppies.

Question:
How long until I can take my puppy to the dog park or pet store?
Answer:
Not until your puppy has all of his shots. He/she will be up-to-date on shots when they leave us but you will need to finish your puppy’s series of shots with your vet. Until then, you should keep your puppy away from places where unknown dogs are or have been.
Question:
What shots and other medications has my puppy had?
Answer:
We will provide a complete health record for you when you come to get your pup that includes labels of the vaccines that he/she has received. You may share this with your vet and he/she will be able to tell you what you need from there.
Question:
Does it matter if the mom is a Golden Retriever or a Poodle?
Answer:
No. In any litter there is a chance of some puppies being curlier than others but this is really a genetic roll of the dice and it is not connected to the mother being a Retriever or a Poodle. Genetically speaking, the genes that code for straight or curly hair are not gender specific in dogs.
Question:
How can we determine if your kennel is the right one for us? Can you please provide referrals?

Question:
Why do you only accept cash when I come to pick-up my puppy?
Answer:
Due to previous circumstances it has become a better business practice to accept cash only at pickup.
Question:
What sizes do your goldendoodles come in?
Answer:
3 sizes: Medium, Mini, and Petite. Our Mediums are typically between 50-60lbs, minis are between 35-45lbs, and petites are between 15-25lbs. The different size come from the size of the poodle that is bred to the mom.
Question:
I see that your puppies are doggy-door trained. Do I need to have a doggy-door for this training to be effective?
Answer:
No, you don't need a doggy-door to continue the potty-training process. Our puppies are already accustomed to going outside to use the bathroom. We have had lots of positive feedback from our clients telling us that their puppies were practically potty-trained the day they brought them home.  To ensure continued  positve results on potty training be consistent with your training when you take your puppy home.
Question:
How often do your females have litters?
Answer:
We breed our females once a year. We care very much about our parents and we are very careful not to over-breed them. We don't like to keep our dogs on a schedule, but let it happen naturally.  Because of this, we can not always tell you who will be expecting 6 months in the future but we believe it's a fair trade to know that our mom's health and happiness comes first.
Question:
What's the difference between an F1 and an F1b goldendoodle? Which one is better for my allergies?

Answer:
An F1 Goldendoodle is the product of a Golden Retriever bred to a Poodle (50% Golden, 50% Poodle). An F1b Goldendoodle is the product of a Goldendoodle bred to a Poodle (75% Poodle, 25% Golden). We firmly believe that both F1 and F1b are ideal for people with allergies. Both are hypo-allergenic, meaning that their dander and saliva are less likely to affect you if you are allergic.  Our puppies whether Fl or Flb have been low to non shedding,  We have had families with allergies adopt our puppies and have nothing but positive feedback.
Answer:
We have many years experience in raising happy, healthy pets and are happy to answer any questions you may have regarding our kennel.  We are glad to give our veterinarian's name and phone number for referral.
